Sophos XG. Next Generation Synchronized Firewall Security.

Create a new virtual machine and mount the ISO file

Minimum installation requirement

Memory: 2GB

Hard disk: 20GB

Network adapter : 2 Bridged adapter (LAN and WAN)

You should have this after the mounting the ISO file on your Vmware

Power up the virtual machine

Type y(yes) to continue

Press y to reboot

Login with default password “admin”

To check your network configuration select option 1

LAN network configuration is 172.16.16.16

LAN interface

Press Enter to continue

WAN interface

Change the first adapter form bridged to custom(host only)

Set static IP on the Vmware 1 adapter

Confirm you can ping the Sophos firewall

Open your browser and type the IP address.

Click on begin

Create a new admin account password

Set your firewall name

Check the box “ i don’t want to register now”

Basic setup is complete, click continue

Uncheck enable DHCP, click continue

Check all and click continue

Set notification and backup

Configuration summary, click finish

Login to the Web-portal (username:admin, password: ******)

Your password is the admin account password created earlier

Check I don’t want to register, click continue
